Sofia, May 14 2024 – The Green Finance and Energy Centre held the second strategic Green Talks meeting of the year, focused on public companies and the ESG opportunities and challenges they face on the path to sustainable development.

Sofia, 09 February 2024 – The Green Centre for Sustainable Finance & Energy has launched a new initiative in support of large corporates in Bulgaria under the umbrella of Green Talks. Through this new format of strategic meetings, the Green Centre hopes to create a platform for the meaningful and comprehensive exchange of good practices, while also providing a channel through which solutions to common challenges can be discussed, brought to relevance through the inclusion of the real-business experience of pioneering companies in the field of sustainable business development.

Sofia, 01 February 2024 – The comprehensive report delves into how the EU taxonomy and the broader sustainable finance framework assist financial and non-financial actors in transitioning to net zero.

Dubai, 04 December 2023 – Initiatives towards the development of sustainable finances by the Bulgarian Stock Exchange and the Green Center were presented by the Executive Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manyu Moravenov, who is also the Chairman of the Green Center, during the COP 28 climate conference in Dubai, as part of the Bulgarian delegation.

Sofia, 23 November 2023 – Within the next month, the licensing process for the Oxygen platform by the Global Reporting Initiative will be completed. This will enable all companies in Bulgaria to report in accordance with GRI standards, which fully cover European legislation. Oxygen saves time, resources, and eases the administrative burden on businesses.

Sofia, 11 October 2023 – On October 10, the Green Centre held a training on „Sustainable financing - legal aspects in the use of financial products“, together with the law firm Kinstellar.

Sofia, 14 June 2023 – The think-tank Green Finance & Energy Centre expresses unconditional support and readiness to provide expert assistance in the context of the upcoming selection of the host of COP 29

Sofia, January 12, 2023 – The Green Centre for Sustainable Finance and Energy and the Municipality of Stara Zagora have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, launching a new full-fledged partnership in support of the sustainable development of the city and the region. This is the first Memorandum of Understanding that the Green Centre has signed with a Bulgarian municipality.

Sofia, November 15, 2022 – The European Parliament has unanimously agreed to increase transparency on environmental, social affairs and governance matters. The new rules for the disclosure of information on the social and environmental footprint of companies will affect nearly 50,000 European businesses.

Sofia, 02 March 2022 – The Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) and its daughter company Financial Market Services in partnership with the leading carbon accounting and decarbonisation software solutions provider Plan A launch “Oxygen” initiative. By leveraging Plan A’s science-based SaaS platform, the initiative aims to enable Bulgarian companies to measure and report on their environmental, social, and corporate impact by obtaining an assessment of their carbon footprint as well as further ESG-related indicators.

Sofia, 31 March 2021 – Today was officially launched the first and only in Bulgaria think tank for sustainable finance and energy – Green Finance & Energy Centre. The Green Centre is initiated by Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) and the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy, the Financial Supervision Commission and the Fund of Funds.

On March 17, 2021 was held the first seminar - discussion organized by the Green Centre on „SFDR - Regulation 2019/2088 - Disclosure of information on sustainability in the financial services sector - the challenges of the new reality“.
