Memorandum of Cooperation between the Green Centre, the BSE, and the Institute for Economic Research at the BAS
Sofia, July 08, 2026 – We signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Green Centre for Sustainable Finance and Energy (Green Centre), the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), and the Institute for Economic Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).

Together, we will work to advance sustainable finance and ESG practices in Bulgaria. For the second consecutive year, the Institute's team has been supporting the preparation of the National ESG Report, developed by the Green Centre.

During the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr Manyu Moravenov, executive director of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, emphasised that the sustainable development of the capital market requires close cooperation between businesses, academia, and public institutions.

„We believe that combining the Bulgarian Stock Exchange's practical experience with the scientific expertise of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will contribute to the development of high-quality analyses, new knowledge and solutions that will support the growth of the Bulgarian capital market and the investment environment,“ he said.

How Bulgarian Businesses Report Their ESG Progress

Sofia, May 27, 2025 – The first report prepared by the think tank for sustainable finance and energy, the Green Centre, was presented on Tuesday, May 27, at Sofia University. The report focuses on how Bulgarian companies report their sustainability performance. The study, compiled by a team from the Green Centre, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, and consultants including Prof. Dr Ec. Sc. Virginia Zhelyazkova, Prof. Dr Daniela Bobeva, Assoc. Prof. Dr Marina Stefanova, Prof. Dr Spartak Keremidchiev, and others covered 214 Bulgarian companies — including banks, state-owned enterprises, publicly listed companies, and energy firms.
