Green Centre held the first seminar - discussion on Regulation 2019/2088
On March 17, 2021 was held the first seminar - discussion organized by the Green Centre on „SFDR - Regulation 2019/2088 - Disclosure of information on sustainability in the financial services sector - the challenges of the new reality“.

The think tank Green Centre is a new initiative of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange and the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange for Sustainable Finance and Energy, which is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Financial Supervision Commission (FSC), Bulgarian Stock Exchange AD (BSE), Bulgarian Association of Licensed Investment Intermediaries (BALII), Bulgarian Association of Asset Management Companies (BAAMC), the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (BAI) and the Bulgarian Association of Supplementary Pension Security Companies (BASPSC).

Lecturers at the seminar were Ms. Hristina Pendicheva, State Expert at the Ministry of Finance, Member of the Expert Group on Sustainable Finance at the European Commission and Ms. Efrosina Nikolova Chief Expert at the International Cooperation Directorate in the Financial Supervision Commission and one of the representatives in Coordination Network for Sustainability to ESMA and the Sustainable Finance Project Group to EIOPA, which discusses draft technical standards in the field of sustainable finance. Ms. Pendicheva acquainted the participants with the new Regulation 2019/2088 on the disclosure of information related to sustainability in the financial services sector - requirements and connection with other initiatives in the field of sustainable finance, and Ms. Nikolova presented the latest developments of the European Supervisory Authorities on the acts implementing SFDR.

The report focuses on how Bulgarian companies report their sustainability performance. The study, compiled by a team from the Green Centre, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, and consultants including Prof. Dr Ec. Sc. Virginia Zhelyazkova, Prof. Dr Daniela Bobeva, Assoc. Prof. Dr Marina Stefanova, Prof. Dr Spartak Keremidchiev, and others covered 214 Bulgarian companies — including banks, state-owned enterprises, publicly listed companies, and energy firms.
