VUZF and BSE organise a round table on the Green Deal and the Future of Investments and Banking

The Higher School of Insurance and Finance (VUZF) and the Laboratory for Applied Scientific Research (VUZF Lab), together with the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), are organising a round table on The „Green Deal and the Future of Investments and Banking“ to be held on November 26, 2021 in Hall 501 of VUZF at 10:30 am. The event will be live broadcast via the VUZF Facebook page and YouTube channel. Participants will also be able to join the discussions in real-time via Google Meet.

The round table aims at provoking a professional expert discussion to outline the main effects of the Green Deal on the banks and the investment community. It will be held in two panels - the first dedicated to banks, and the second - to capital markets. The discussions will be attended by managers and experts from banks, non-banking financial institutions, other representatives of the investment community and management companies, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, state institutions - the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Supervision Commission, and others.

The round table will open the Rector of VUZF, Assoc. Prof. Dr Grigoriy Vazov, and the Chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission, Mr Boyko Atanasov.

How are the banks in Bulgaria situated in relation to the new policies of the EU and in particular of the ECB, what will be the changes in the market of bank lending as a result of the Green Deal, and what new opportunities for obtaining bank financing for business will appear as a result - these and other issues will be discussed by experts on November 26 from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm. The expert talks will be live broadcast on the only business television in Bulgaria, Bloomberg TV Bulgaria.

What is „green investments and investment instruments“, what are the trends in working with this type of instruments in our country and on the European market, as well as how to invest in them, will be among the topics of focus in the second panel, which will begin at 1:00 pm.

Among the leading panellists and moderators of the round table will be Prof. Dr Virginia Zhelyazkova, Vice-Rector for Academic & Quality Management at VUZF and Program Director of Finance and Financial Management Research at VUZF Lab, Dr Manyu Moravenov, Executive Director of Bulgarian Stock Exchange and associate professor at VUZF, Prof. Dr Daniela Bobeva, professor at VUZF, and others. Until November 24, you may register for the round table at info@vuzflab.eu. When registering, you should indicate whether you want to attend on-site at VUZF or will participate online. Based on the registration, you will receive a link to access the event. Only persons with a green certificate will be allowed in the hall.

VUZF Lab plans to hold a series of round tables, thematic professional discussions with the participation of experts throughout the academic year, with which the business university will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
