Sofia, July 18, 2022 – PwC Bulgaria has launched a competition for sustainable business practices and effective ESG strategies - “ESG Awards”.

The initiative aims to attract organizations which successfully develop and implement effective ESG strategies, offer innovative products and services with a positive impact on the environment and conduct information campaigns in the field of sustainable development. Potential participants can choose among four categories, namely “Strategy”, “Innovation, “Educational Program” and “Leader in Sustainable Development” which is designated for individuals only.

Interested parties can submit an application until 31 July 2022. Information on the initiative and the full list of requirements are available at:

How Bulgarian Businesses Report Their ESG Progress

Sofia, May 27, 2025 – The first report prepared by the think tank for sustainable finance and energy, the Green Centre, was presented on Tuesday, May 27, at Sofia University. The report focuses on how Bulgarian companies report their sustainability performance. The study, compiled by a team from the Green Centre, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, and consultants including Prof. Dr Ec. Sc. Virginia Zhelyazkova, Prof. Dr Daniela Bobeva, Assoc. Prof. Dr Marina Stefanova, Prof. Dr Spartak Keremidchiev, and others covered 214 Bulgarian companies — including banks, state-owned enterprises, publicly listed companies, and energy firms.
